Field::Nokturn::Chopin

A celebration of the shared history of the piano nocturne between Poland and Ireland. Commissioned by the Embassy of Poland in Dublin in partnership with Lyrebird Productions. Recorded for broadcast in partnership with RTÉ Lyric FM and hosted by the Royal Irish Academy of Music.

The project brings nocturnes by Field and Chopin together with newly commissioned responses from prominent Irish and Polish composers:

Nokturn I (2025): Benjamin O’Dwyer, François Hildebrandt, Aoife Kavanagh and Paweł Łukaszewski. Premiered on 25th June 2025 at Vernon Studios RIAM in Dublin by pianists Finghin Collins and Tamara Niekludow, recorded for broadcast in partnership with RTÉ Lyric FM.

Nokturn II (2026): Paweł Łukaszewski (Nocturne cycle) and Tamara Niekludow. Premiered by Tamara Niekludow at RIAM on 18th June 2026

Nokturn III (2027): More information coming soon for our 2027 event.
